Content is the king. They all say that and it is true, but most of you never pay attention. If you don’t know what this means, let me explain this in a simple way.
You need to make sure, you have something valuable to offer to your website visitors. Write good content on all your pages, not just the main page.
If your visitor click on a link only to be discovered, the content is out of date and not relevant to the theme of the site, they might get discourage to click any of your other links and leave altogether. If you intend on keeping your valuable users and want them to keep coming back, content is a major area you need to focused on.
DO NOT use duplicate content, stuff you scrape off of another site and paste it to yours. If you have the same information as all the other 100 or 10000 websites out there, two things will happen.
Page Ranking (PR)
Number one, your website will get rank lower on all the major search engines such as Google. All the major search engines use duplicate content filters on their page ranking algorithms. This means less to no visitors to your site. Keep in mind that search engines are way smarter than you think.
Do not try to fight them, try to work together, because at the end they will catch up to you and penalize you. When that happens it’s not easy to get back on top of the rankings again.
Visitor Loyalty
Number two, you will lose on returning visitors. If you have the same content as the other guys, you will lose visitors in a hurry because they already seen that information somewhere else on the web, so why would they re-read the same, well now out of date content.
Add A Personal Touch
So my advice to you do not copy other peoples work, be unique, write your own articles or blogs. Add your thoughts and give them a personality of your own. if you are a first time writer or blogger, it might be a little difficult to start, but do not give up. Everything starts slowly. There maybe mistakes, but you will learn from them pretty quickly.
You can use a service like copyscape to check for duplicate content. If you don’t have the time, hire a writer to write good quality content for you, but at least try to contribute frequent posts of your own too for a mixtures of ideas.
